SHEEHY CONNECTS WITH AUDIENCES - FROM PAGE TO STAGE

The author of Passages, who became an icon of Baby Boomers, is one of the most popular speakers on the lecture circuit. She offers dynamic programs based on her groundbreaking research and original observations on the lives of men and women within different phases of their lives and how they can enjoy them to the fullest. At the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York, Sheehy noted that a woman who reaches the age of 50 without evidence of cancer or heart disease can expect to live until 92. There was a rumble of surprised delight, followed by gasps as the audience processed the information. "Whoever prepared us for the possibility we might live long enough to forget the name of our first husband?" Sheehy asked.

“Survival Skills for Workaholics”

"Thank you for all your contributions to the success of the 2011 Microsoft CEO Summit. Your session "scores" were very high. We really could not have been more delighted, and thank you also for all the preparation you put into it."

—John Needham, Summit Organizer

“Passages In Caregiving”

In 2009, Sheehy turned her attention to helping a generation navigate the emotional and practical sides of the caregiver role. She was named Caregiving Ambassador for AARP, the leading advocate for 50-plus Americans. The paperback version of, Passages in Caregiving, went on sale May 24, 2011. She has spoken before audiences of 5,000 and 500, and received rave reviews:

"Please accept our thanks and deep appreciation for your willingness to serve as a presenter of 'Passages in Caregiving' during the 2011 Aging in America Conference. I was delighted to hear glowing reports about your overflowing, well-received Critical Issue in Aging session. The excellent program, as well as your one-on-one attention to attendees after the event, was much appreciated."

—Robert G. Stein, President and CEO, American Society on Aging

“Sex and the Seasoned Woman”

One of her most popular presentations is ”Passage of the Seasoned Woman,“ based on her book Sex and the Seasoned Woman.

"An anecdote-filled compendium of women living what Sheehy calls 'fully and passionately'...carr[ies] an optimistic message: Despite age, menopause and wrinkles, women can continue to enjoy sex."

—The New York Times
